Crichton

Crichton is a small Midlothian village about 20 kilometres southeast of Edinburgh via the A7. The area sits amongst rolling Border countryside with typical Scottish farmland and gentle hills. Most visitors use the Edinburgh route, though the nearby A68 offers alternatives for longer journeys. The village features the striking ruins of Crichton Castle, notable for its unique Italian Renaissance diamond-faceted stonework added in the 1580s.
