Crackenedge

Crackenedge forms part of West Yorkshire's former mill country, effectively merging with Dewsbury and Batley in a dense urban area shaped by textile industry heritage. Access is straightforward via Junction 40 of the M62, with local routes like the A638 and A652 connecting neighbouring towns. The M62 provides the main east-west corridor, whilst the A1(M) lies 15 kilometres east for north-south travel. The former Lockwood Baths building remains a distinctive reminder of Victorian civic amenities built for mill workers.
