Copperton is a small Northern Cape town about 60 km from Prieska via the R357, linking up with the N10 for longer hauls. It's proper Karoo country, flat and dry, once known for its copper mine and now handy to the SKA radio-quiet zone. Locals nip through to Goodwood or Prieska for supplies, while visitors from far-off spots like Steinkopf or Bethulie are in for a proper cross-country trek. Fuel up before you go, chargers are few and far between out here.
