Cookbury

Cookbury is a small north Devon village set among rolling farmland between Holsworthy and Great Torrington. Reach it via the A3072 from Holsworthy or country roads from the A386. Most traffic involves short hops between neighbouring villages, though the narrow lanes require patience during farming season. The 13th-century church of St. John the Baptist houses a remarkable medieval rood screen with original painted saint panels.
