Cold Newton is a small Leicestershire village perched on elevated ground in the Wreake Valley, about 15 kilometres east of Leicester. Most visitors arrive via the A47, turning north through Tilton on the Hill, whilst local traffic uses quieter routes from Market Harborough or Melton Mowbray. The village sits conveniently between these market towns, making it popular for countryside tours. Its Norman church of St Andrew houses exceptional 13th-century wall paintings of St Margaret of Antioch.
