Church Stoke is a small border town in Powys, positioned strategically on the A489 between Newtown and the English border. The main approach follows the A489 from either direction, with scenic alternatives via the B4385 from Montgomery. Most visitors arrive from Shrewsbury (45 minutes via A458/A489) or from Welsh population centres via Newtown. There are approximately 15 EV charging points nearby. The 13th-century St. Nicholas church houses a rare medieval rood screen, one of the few remaining in the county.
