Chillicothe, IL

Chillicothe sits along the Illinois River about 20 miles north of Peoria in central Illinois. Route 29 provides the main north-south connection through town, while Route 116 runs east-west. Most visitors arrive via I-74 to Peoria, then take Route 29 north. The downtown area features antique shops near the historic riverfront, and the city hosts an annual Chestnut Festival each October commemorating the area's lost American chestnut forests.
