3About Chelmorton
Chelmorton perches high on the White Peak plateau, surrounded by the characteristic dry stone walls and limestone scenery of the Peak District. Access is via country lanes off the A515 from Buxton or through Monyash from the A6 corridor. The village sits at over 400 metres elevation, bringing cooler temperatures and frequent mists that roll across the exposed moorland. Its medieval church houses one of Derbyshire's few surviving wooden rood screens from before the Reformation.
