Cefn-gorwydd lies in central Powys between the spa towns of Llanwrtyd Wells and Llangammarch Wells, reached via the A483 from Builth Wells or through Brecon on the A470. The village sits where two streams meet before joining the River Irfon, connected by a series of Victorian stone bridges that remain the area's most distinctive architectural feature.
