Cattawade

Cattawade straddles the Essex-Suffolk border where the River Stour meets its estuary, accessible via the A137 between Colchester and Ipswich. Most visitors arrive en route to nearby Manningtree or whilst exploring Constable Country around East Bergholt and Flatford. With over 100 EV charging points locally and good connections to the A12, it's well-positioned for onward travel. The village centres on Cattawade Barrage, an impressive flood defence controlling the River Stour.
