Castleside

Castleside is a small County Durham village near Consett, reached via the A691 from Newcastle (25km southeast) or the A692 from Stanley. Long-distance visitors typically use the A1(M) to Junction 63, then follow the A693 and local roads. The area has over 90 public EV charging points nearby, including facilities at IKEA Gateshead. The old railway embankment that once carried coal trains now serves as a popular walking route through the village.
