About Carisbrooke

Carisbrooke lies in the centre of the Isle of Wight, two kilometres from Newport along the A3020. After crossing by ferry from Portsmouth or Southampton, drivers use the village as a base for exploring the island's western reaches and southern coast. The Norman castle, where Charles I was held prisoner, towers over the village from its ancient earthworks.
