3About Canongate
Canongate forms the eastern section of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, running from St Giles' Cathedral down to Holyrood Palace. Drivers approaching from the airport follow the A8 into town, whilst those from England use the A1 via Musselburgh. The narrow cobbled street isn't ideal for cars, with most visitors parking at Holyrood Road or using the over 200 EV charging points nearby. Adam Smith lies buried in the modest kirkyard of Canongate Kirk, his grave marked simply with name and dates.
