3About Camel's Head
Camel's Head forms part of Plymouth's western suburbs, sitting along the Tamar estuary where it meets Plymouth Sound. Reach it via the A386 Tavistock Road from Plymouth city centre, or from the A38 if travelling from further afield. The A374 provides the main route from Cornwall via Tamar Bridge. The area takes its name from a distinctive rocky headland that sailors once thought resembled a reclining camel when viewed from the water.
