Bucklers Hard is a historic shipbuilding village on the Beaulieu River in the New Forest, famous for constructing ships for Nelson's navy. Reach it via the B3054 from Beaulieu village, about 5km southeast. The approach winds through dense forest before opening onto the riverside hamlet. The village comprises just one wide street leading to the water, lined with original 18th-century cottages that housed master shipwrights.
