Brookland

Brookland lies on Romney Marsh in Kent, reached via the A259 coastal route or through Ashford from the M20. The village serves as a gateway to the marsh's network of narrow lanes connecting scattered settlements like Ivychurch and New Romney. Its 13th-century church boasts a rare detached wooden bell tower, built separately because the soft marsh ground couldn't bear the weight of bells within the stone structure itself.
