Reached via the A9 from Inverness (60km south), it's a natural stopping point for journeys to the far north. The village sits amongst rolling Highland scenery with views across the Kyle of Sutherland. Thomas Telford's original 1812 bridge operated as a toll crossing until 1949, with the old toll house still visible today.
