Bolivar is a small Ohio town of about 1,000 people in Tuscarawas County, roughly 20 miles south of Canton via State Route 212. From Columbus, take I-77 north to New Philadelphia, then SR-39 west. The village sits in rolling Appalachian foothills along the Tuscarawas River, surrounded by farmland and Amish country. Its claim to fame is Fort Laurens, Ohio's only Revolutionary War fort, where Continental soldiers survived a harsh 1778 winter siege.
