Boipatong

Boipatong lies in the Vaal Triangle, just off the R59 between Johannesburg and Vanderbijlpark, about 73 km from Joburg and a quick hop from Sharpeville, Bophelong and Vereeniging. Daytrippers come through from Carletonville and Mohlakeng, while long-haul visitors arrive via the N1 from as far as Bethulie or Mount Fletcher. Vereeniging Airport is nearby for light aircraft, and around 3 fast EV chargers are dotted about for the trip. The town is forever linked to the 1992 Boipatong massacre, a heavy chapter in the area's story.
