Blue Ball sits along the N52 between Tullamore and Birr in County Offaly, about 90 minutes from Dublin via the M6 and Junction 5 at Kilbeggan. The flat midlands terrain makes for straightforward driving, with the R357 offering a more scenic route through the countryside. You'll find whiskey distilleries at both Tullamore and Kilbeggan within easy reach, plus decent golf courses nearby. The village gets its name from an old coaching inn that hung a blue ball as its sign to help travelers who couldn't read find their way along the route.
