Belchalwell

Belchalwell is a small Dorset village nestled in the chalk downlands north of Blandford Forum. Reach it via the A357, then follow country lanes westward through typical English countryside of rolling hills and ancient field boundaries. Most visitors are making local journeys to nearby villages or market towns, though the A350 from Shaftesbury provides access for longer trips. The 13th-century church of St. Aldhelm houses a remarkable medieval wooden screen that escaped destruction during the Reformation.
