Ballygrant

Ballygrant lies at the centre of Islay along the A846, the island's main road connecting the ferry ports at Port Askaig and Port Ellen. Most visitors arrive by ferry from Kennacraig on the mainland, with the village serving as a convenient base for exploring Islay's renowned whisky distilleries and coastal walks. The airport is 7km away, whilst approximately one fast charger supports electric vehicles touring the island. The village overlooks Loch Ballygrant, which supplies water to several local distilleries including nearby Caol Ila.
