Badplaas

Badplaas, in Mpumalanga near the Eswatini border, is best known for its natural hot springs at Aventura Badplaas, hitting around 40°C. Get there via the N4 from Joburg or Pretoria (about 278 km), turning onto the R38 through Carolina, or straight up from Nelspruit on the R38. It's a quick 40 km hop from Lochiel, and neighbouring towns like Elukwatini and Nhlazatje are all within a 30 km jaunt. EV drivers should charge up in Nelspruit first, chargers are thin on the ground out this way.
