About Angarrack

Angarrack is a former mining village in Cornwall's north coast district, easily reached via the A30 which runs 3km south of the village. Most visitors arrive from the A30 either eastbound from Penzance or westbound from the M5 connection at Bodmin, whilst locals often use minor roads from nearby Hayle. The village retains its mining heritage with stone cottages and remnants of the tin and copper industry that once made this area globally significant. The name comes from Cornish "An Garrek" meaning "the rock," after the granite outcrop that still dominates the village centre.
