Adpar forms half of a twin settlement with Newcastle Emlyn across the River Teifi in Carmarthenshire. The A484 provides the main route through the area, connecting Cardigan with Carmarthen via the scenic Teifi Valley. Most visitors approach from the A40 at St Clears, though the A487 coastal route offers an alternative from the north. The 18th-century bridge links Adpar directly to Newcastle Emlyn's market square, with the county boundary running down the river's centre.
