Addo, in the Eastern Cape, is your turn-off point for the Addo Elephant National Park, reached via the R335 off the N2. It's about an hour's drive from Gqeberha or Uitenhage, with Kirkwood and Sunland close by for those farm-to-town runs through citrus country. Visitors often roll in from as far as the Karoo or Wild Coast. The airport at Gqeberha is 77 km off, and here's the cherry on top, this is one of the only spots where you can spot the Big Seven in one reserve.
