Thurles sits on the River Suir in County Tipperary's Golden Vale, easily reached via M8 Junction 6. The N62 runs north-south through town, with the N75 heading east to Cashel. It's well-positioned for trips to Dublin (150 km), Cork (114 km), or Limerick (77 km), with regular rail services on the Dublin-Cork line. Around 17 EV charging stations serve the area. The town is famous as the birthplace of the GAA, founded at Hayes' Hotel in 1884, making it the spiritual home of hurling and Gaelic football.
