Thomastown sits along the River Nore in County Kilkenny, about 15 kilometers south of Kilkenny city where the N9 crosses the river between Dublin and Waterford. The medieval town makes a handy stop on the two-hour drive from Dublin, with good access via the main N9 or the more scenic R700 through the Nore Valley. There's decent EV charging about with 17 fast stations in the area. The town's claim to fame is its grand 13th-century Norman bridge with multiple arches spanning the Nore, built when the Normans made this a proper walled borough.
