The Mound

Scotland
The Mound sits where the A9 crosses Dornoch Firth via Thomas Telford's 1815 causeway. It's a key junction for routes north to Caithness and east to Dornoch via the A949. About eleven fast charging points nearby serve electric vehicles. The railway runs alongside the road on the original causeway, with trains and cars crossing the firth just metres apart.
