Tecumseh is a small Oklahoma town about 40 miles east of Oklahoma City, reached via Highway 9 from I-40 Exit 186. Most traffic flows between here and nearby Shawnee, with longer routes connecting to southeastern Oklahoma's lake country. The town's water tower features a distinctive Native American chief silhouette honoring its namesake, Shawnee leader Tecumseh.
