Tarbert, Argyll and Bute
Ireland
Ireland
Tarbert occupies the narrow neck of the Kintyre Peninsula where two sea lochs nearly meet, creating a natural crossing point that's been used for centuries. The A83 provides the main access, winding along Loch Fyne from Inveraray about 40km northeast, or connecting south to the Kennacraig ferry terminal. From Glasgow it's roughly 100km via the A82 and A83 through some of Argyll's most dramatic highland scenery. The village has around 2 EV charging points and remains a working fishing port where traditional wooden boats still moor alongside modern vessels.
