Tannery Yard forms part of Leeds' western suburbs, easily reached via the A647 Stanningley Road from the city center 2km away. The A6120 Outer Ring Road connects to the M621, M1, and M62 for longer journeys, whilst local routes serve daily trips to Bramley and Armley. Leeds Bradford Airport sits 15km northwest, and over 300 EV charging points serve the area. The district's name recalls the Victorian tanning works that once lined the River Aire.
