Swanscombe sits in northwest Kent between the Dartford Crossing and London, reached via the A226 through town or M25 Junction 2. The A2 provides connections east to Canterbury while local routes serve Bluewater and commuter traffic to London. The town is famous for its 400,000-year-old human skull fragments, discovered in 1930s gravel excavations.
