Sulphur is a small Louisiana city just west of Lake Charles, easily reached via Interstate 10. Most visitors arrive from Lake Charles (15 minutes east) or Houston (2 hours west). The flat coastal terrain experiences typical Gulf Coast weather with hot, humid summers. Lake Charles Regional Airport is 15 miles away via I-10, and basic EV charging is available at truck stops. The city got its name from natural sulfur springs that once attracted health resort visitors in the early 1900s.
