Sullom lies on Shetland's northern coast, about 10 kilometres from Brae via the A970 and local roads. The journey from Lerwick takes roughly 45 minutes, whilst Sumburgh Airport is an hour and a half away. Two public fast chargers serve the broader area, though EV drivers should plan charging stops carefully given the remote location. The settlement is dominated by Sullom Voe Oil Terminal, one of Europe's largest oil processing facilities since the North Sea oil boom.
