Stonehaugh

Stonehaugh is a tiny Northumberland village reached via narrow lanes from the A69, about 15 miles south. Most approach through Simonburn from Hexham or via the B6320 from Bellingham. The single-track roads require careful driving, especially in winter when snow often blocks higher routes. The village sits near RAF Spadeadam, where rocket engine tests create thunderous echoes that carry for miles across the valley.
