Stoke Poges is a historic Buckinghamshire village four kilometres north of Slough, easily reached via the A4 and local roads from the M40's Junction 6. Despite proximity to Heathrow (15km) and major routes, it retains its rural charm with ancient woodlands and rolling fields. The churchyard here inspired Thomas Gray's famous "Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard" in 1750.
