Steger is a small city in southern Cook County, 30 miles south of Chicago near the Indiana border. Take Interstate 394 south from Chicago or connect from I-80 if traveling east-west. The town was founded in 1896 as a company town for Steger Piano Company workers, and you can still see the original planned street grid designed for the piano factory community.
