Ste. Genevieve is Missouri's oldest permanent European settlement, located along the Mississippi River about an hour south of St. Louis via Interstate 55. Take Exit 150 to Highway 32 for the historic downtown. The scenic drive along Highway 61 follows the river through bottomlands and limestone bluffs. You can tour the Bolduc House, built around 1770 with original French vertical log construction and hand-hewn oak timbers.
