St Ola, Orkney Islands

St Ola lies just outside Kirkwall on Orkney's Mainland, reached via the A964 from the capital or the A965 from the Stromness ferry terminal. With over 20 fast chargers around Kirkwall, it's well-served for electric vehicles. The settlement remains scattered across farmland rather than forming a proper village, but holds the distinction of housing the site of Earl Thorfinn's 11th-century stone church.
