St Mullin's is a quiet village in County Carlow's Barrow Valley, reached via the R729 or through New Ross (16km southeast) and Graiguenamanagh (12km northeast). The R705 and local roads connect to nearby towns like Borris and Ballywilliam. Most visitors come to see the 7th-century monastic ruins, particularly the impressive four-meter granite high cross with its detailed Celtic knotwork and biblical carvings. The winding country roads offer lovely views of the River Barrow and surrounding farmland as you drive through.
