South Cuan lies on Seil Island, reached via the famous Clachan Bridge from the A816 near Oban. The B844 crosses this "Bridge over the Atlantic" to access the former slate-quarrying communities. About 6 EV chargers serve the area, mostly around Oban for longer journeys from Glasgow or Edinburgh. The flooded slate quarries create striking turquoise pools that contrast sharply with the surrounding moorland.
