South Cle Elum, WA

South Cle Elum is a small mountain town on I-90, about 80 miles east of Seattle near the Cascade foothills. Take Exit 84 off the interstate, or approach via Highway 821 from Yakima through the scenic river canyon. The town sits at 2,000 feet with snowy winters and dry summers. It's the starting point for the Iron Horse State Park rail-trail, a 113-mile path following an old railroad grade through the mountains.
