South Carne perches on Cornwall's dramatic north coast, reached via the A39 Atlantic Highway from Bude or the A395 from Launceston. The clifftop town faces the full force of Atlantic weather, with granite cottages lining streets that drop steeply toward the sea. The town's Victorian pier, built in 1893, extends 200 metres into the Atlantic and remains one of the few working fishing piers on this stretch of coast.
