Sorrento is a small Louisiana town of about 2,200 people located 20 miles southeast of Baton Rouge in the River Parishes. Highway 22 runs right through town, connecting to I-10 for easy access to Baton Rouge or New Orleans, while Highway 431 provides north-south connections through the industrial corridor. The community was named after the Italian coastal city by Italian immigrants who came here in the late 1800s to work in sugar mills.
