Slaughterford

England

England

Slaughterford is a small Wiltshire village between Chippenham and Bath, reached via the A420 and B4039 from Chippenham or through Castle Combe from Bath. The M4 Junction 17 provides motorway access for longer journeys. The village sits in a sheltered valley where the By Brook once served as a cattle crossing, giving Slaughterford its distinctive name from the old ford where livestock were driven through the shallow waters.
