Six Shooter Canyon, AZ

Six Shooter Canyon is a small desert community of about 800 people in eastern Arizona's Gila County, sitting at 3,400 feet where the Sonoran Desert meets pine country. Most visitors arrive via US-60 from Phoenix (120 miles) or US-77 from Tucson connecting to US-70. The area gets hot summers with cooling monsoons and mild winters. The town's name comes from six distinctive stone pillars that rise dramatically from the canyon floor like towering sentinels.
