Shotley Bridge

England

England

Shotley Bridge lies in County Durham's Derwent Valley, three kilometres from Consett along the A692. The main route from Newcastle follows the A694 through Rowlands Gill before turning north on the A692. Local drivers use these roads for commutes to Newcastle and Gateshead, whilst the B6278 provides access from Corbridge. The valley setting once supported steel production, and today the town boasts England's oldest cricket club, established in 1751 on its original ground.
