Shamokin Dam, PA

Shamokin Dam is a small river town in central Pennsylvania, about 50 miles north of Harrisburg via US-15. The borough sits on the Susquehanna River across from Sunbury, connected by the historic Packers Island Bridge. Most visitors arrive via US-15 from the south or PA-61 from the coal regions. The town takes its name from an actual 1906 dam that once harnessed the Susquehanna's power.
