Selside, North Yorkshire

Selside is a tiny Yorkshire Dales farming village on the B6479 between Settle and Hawes, reached via the A65 from either Skipton or Lancaster. The settlement sits at 300m elevation amongst limestone fells and dry stone walls, serving as a waypoint on the Pennine Way. Most visitors arrive from Skipton (25km south) or use the M6 Junction 36 route through Kirkby Lonsdale. The village's stone cottages provide the last shelter before walkers tackle the ascent to Pen-y-ghent.
